Relationship Not Saving
I have tried to create a new relationship between two tables but after I save the relationship when I go back into the manage relationships pane the relationship is not there. I am not sure why this is happening and what I can do to fix it. It allows me to save the relationships but it just disapears afterwards.

Hi powerbiuserasu,
Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.
I don’t see any issues on my end.
version i am using Version: 2.140.829.0 64-bit (February 2025)Please check if the key columns in both tables have the same data type, as mismatched types can prevent Power BI from saving the relationship.
Also, if an indirect relationship already exists through another table, Power BI may not allow a direct one.

Hello,
I'm facing the same issue using version: 2.140.1205.0 64-bit (February, 2025)
When I'm trying to create a new relationship that autodetects to "many-to-many" and try to override it to one-to-many (which is what it should detect...), it won't save. I tried deleting it and recreating it by setting it directly to "one-to-many" and it won't save.

That may be a different issue/cause. When it refuses to accept a 1:* relationship then you have either duplicates or blanks at the 1 side.

Hello Ibendlin,
I agree with you however I have removed the duplicates, removed blanks/nulls as well as doing a trim on the 1 side:
So I'm not sure what's causing this and I'm not getting any error message, it's simply doesn't do anything.

Hi,
I'm experiencing the same issue for the first time. I've tested various relationships, including those automatically detected by Power BI, but every time I save and return to Manage Relationships, the new relationship disappears. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

I'm having the same issues with saving modeling or re-activating modeling that worked prior to the Feb 2025 update. It doesn't give you any error message and acts as if it is saving the relationship, but then doesn't save it. My collegue had the previous version of BI desktop and ran the same modeling relationship in the old version and it saved.

I tried again this morning, and the bug seems to have been fixed ! Relationships properly saves.

Same problem. I'm just trying to save a 1:Many relationship and when I click save, it thinks, then does not save the change in the Model View.

I am also hitting the same issue on Version: 2.140.1351.0 64-bit (February 2025)
I add a relationship, save the .pbix, close it, re-open it, and the relationship is gone. Are there any workarounds until it gets fixed in Power BI Desktop?- lbendlinSuper User
Try this version that was published 25 years ago!
(Note: it's actually 1351. Their web page is out of sync again)
