Regrouping column renaming breaks GIT integration

Hello !

I am experiencing some issue with the GIT integration after I renamed a few columns for testing purposes. In fact, in the model I had a few calculated columns that were introduced in the source later, and to test and compare values, I had to rename those.

This added a new step into my power query and every time I try to edit any renaming step, I cannot complete the integration with GIT with the following message:

"Dataset changes will cause data deletion"

Cluster URI https://wabi-north-europe-e-primary-redirect.analysis.windows.net/

Workload Error Code Alm_InvalidRequest_PurgeRequired

Workload Error Message Dataset changes will cause data deletion.

I found another post where it was suggested to purge the dataset, but even so, I am not able to process my changes.

Did anyone face the same issue and solve it ?

Thanks !

Hello again !

I found a way to force the update: I published the changes directly from PowerBI Desktop and then committed the change.

I leave the comment here for those who might be struggling as I was.

Quick note. After integrating the change I had to proceed with a full refresh of the model as all data contained were dropped
