Hi,
I noticed that the date inputs in the PBI Service for Paginated Reports (from Power BI Report Builder) have had a functionality regression for US based users. It used to be the case that dates could be entered as "7/1/23" (July 1st, 2023) and the PBI service would autocomplete it to "07/01/2023", making it easy and convenient for users to use date entry shortcuts.
However, now the PBI Service is forcing users to enter dates exactly in the "MM/DD/YYYY" format, making it significantly less easy and convenient than before.
Was wondering if this can be corrected in a future version of the PBI service?
Thanks
Hi kephas,
This was a change because of all the different ways customers would enter date parameters. Trying to handle all the different formats was causing wrong data or rendering failures. Your suggestion is that if someone enters 7/1/23 we autocorrect it under the covers to be 07/01/2023?
Hi Bradsy,
Ah, that makes sense. Yes, if implementing the backend autocorrect is possible that would be great.
Thanks,
Kephas
