Refreshing paginated report against Salesforce data
Hi there,
I've connected to my Salesforce objects via Power BI desktop, created a dataset and published it - the dataset and the Power BI report refresh fine in the Power BI service.
I want to create a paginated report from this dataset, so have opened Report Builder on my desktop and connected to the published dataset. I've created a Report Builder data source and dataset ok and then published the report to the Power BI service.
However when I try to refresh/open the paginated report in the service I get this error:
DmtsDataSource: DiscoverMonikers did not return an access token for DataSource: "[ccon]MyWorkspace_Dataset11[/ccon]", DataSourceType: PBIDATASET, CredentialType: SingleSignOn.
Is there a step I am missing in my set up of the paginated report or its connection? Is there any good material out there on paginated reports with Salesforce data?

I think it must just have been a glitch at the time - it worked fine later in the day. perhaps I hadn't set the connection credentials up properly the first time I tried to refresh it and got the error.

Hi KeithLowry were you able to find a solution? As a workaround, maybe you can try to test your connection with a 3rd party connector, which pulls data from the SF objects API directly, then you can publish the report to the service and it should refresh normally. I've tried windsor.ai, supermetrics and funnel.io. I stayed with windsor because it is much cheaper so just to let you know other options. In case you wonder, to make the connection first search for the Salesforce connector in the data sources list:
After that, just grant access to your Salesforce account using your credentials, then on preview and destination page you will see a preview of your Salesforce fields:
There just select the fields you need. It is also compatible with custom fields and custom objects, so you'll be able to export them through windsor. Finally, just select PBI as your data destination and finally just copy and paste the url on PBI --> Get Data --> Web --> Paste the url.
