Refreshes In Powerbi With Button From Flow

So we have a button we put on a power bi report, that when pressed runs a flow to refresh the dataset of this report. However we know that power bi pro limits the number of SCHEDULED refreshes that are allowed to take place (8). now my question is, does that limit apply to that button i mentioned above? or is that seperate?

thanks!

Thanks for the info on this! however i do want to know, when people use this button often enough, we get the following error on the flow:

i know this forum is for Power BI but i didnt know if you might know how to avoid this error in the future for our buttons for our reports (we are looking to add them all to this.)

Hi, @alexb11

When you use a button in a report to trigger a flow that refreshes a dataset, this is considered a manual refresh operation, not a scheduled refresh. Manual refreshes, including those triggered by buttons in Microsoft Power Automate, don't count toward the scheduled refresh daily limit. The difference here is between user-initiated actions and auto-scheduled refreshes that occur at a scheduled time without direct user action.

However, it's important to note that while manual refresh doesn't count toward the scheduled refresh limit, there are overall service limits and considerations to be aware of, such as API rate limits and potential resource limits for the Power BI service. These factors can affect the responsiveness and availability of manual refresh operations, especially during peak usage periods.

Unfortunately, this is incorrect.  Power Automate and Microsoft Flows use the rest API and these count toward the daily refresh limit. I have tested and confirmed this, and it is stated in several other places:
