Refresh via Custom Connector - will it work with Power BI On-Premises Data Gateway on a Server

Hi All

 

I have a Power BI report which uses a Custom Data Connector published on Power BI Service and I can refresh it successfully using the Power BI On-Premises Data Gateway (Personal) mode running on my PC..

 

I would like to move this to an Azure  Windows server for more resilience and reliability.

 

Is this possible and if so how should I go about it please?

    Hi LON,

     

    I didn't have the same environment to test for you, but, from this document, it looks like you need to make sure the folder you create is accessible to the background gateway service. And make sure the gateway can connect to the server which hosts data source. Then, you could install data gateway on a different server.
