I searched for a while, but cannot find. Does someone know or there is a change in the refresh of power bi reports? A few weeks ago I had to refresh the chrome browser to see te changes in the visuals of the power bi report, but now the visual changes automatically if you refresh the dataset. That's good news, because you don't have te refresh the browser and so don't lose your filters etc.
However, I cannot find this change in releasenotes or anywhere else. Does anyone know if this is changed in Power BI web or is this a change in the webbrowser? However, there is a difference between chrome and chromium webbrowser. In Chrome it works how I earlier describe, but in chromium it doesn't work and I need to refresh the webbrowser.
We use chromium to display the dashboards on the screen with a Raspberry, so my question is or it is also working like the chrome webbrowser in the future?
Hi,
You can embed your report in PPT and you can use slideshow mode.
Thanks,
Sai Teja
I observe now that the data in the visuals automatically refresh after the dataset is refreshed, this is while the report is already open. You can see change the values. But that is only in Google Chrome. In Chromium the values don't change, only if you refresh the browser.
A few week ago you also had to refresh the browser of Google chrome before you saw the changed values after refreshing the dataset.
@JanPloeg ,
Even today i feel that a browser refresh or at least a visual refresh has to be done for the new values to reflect in the report if the report is already open. Your browser catches instances of data and if the dataset is refreshed while the report is open, then it is still catching the earlier instance (when the dataset was not refreshed).
Hope this makes sense and helps you !
@JanPloeg ,
What you are observing now is actually the default behaviour of Power BI reports. When your data is refreshed, the new values will automatically pop-up in the visuals of report. Just in case you have the report already open while its datsaet was getting refreshed, then you need to refresh the browser or visuals.
This is for all browsers.
@Anand24 ,
That's not what I see. My values changed without a page/visual refresh. I only refreshed the Semantic model in the Power BI app on my telephone and when this refresh is done, you see values changing without refreshing te page or visuals.
