Refresh failure after changing granularity for Incremental Refresh configuration
Hello everyone,
Initially, I had configured Incremental Refresh for my Dataset as below:
But then, I read somewhere it is better to configure in months as it creates partitions. Hence, I changed the granularity to months as below:
But now, the refresh on Power BI Service is failing. Can anyone let me know what difference it would have the number of partitions it would create?
I cannot understand the reason of the refresh failure.
Any help/guidance would be great.
Thanks in advance.

Hi rajulshah
Could you succeed to refresh if you set store and refresh by years?
Please check your configure of your gateway.
I have a test that build a sample report and change interval from 4 years to 48 months.
My Sample Data:
RangeStart: 2015/10/31 0:00:00
RangeEnd : 2020/12/31 0:00:00
Custom Filter:
Set Incremental Refresh in field.
Publish the report and refresh the dataset in service manually.
Refresh result:
First Refrsh is 4 years, second and third are 48 months.
My result is correct.

Hello Anonymous ,
Thanks for the response, but the reply doesn't give any explanation as why it takes much more time and then failing when changing to 48 months?
