Refresh failed due to gateway configuration issues.

Dear Power community and experts,

We are starting to use PowerBI.

We created an online mysql on a debian and powerBI connects to it.

With powerBI desktop, we have no issue connecting to it. It works great, we can refresh data without any problem.

I tested this datasource outside our local network (just in case) and it works too.

When I publish online and try to refresh data on powerbi.com, we got a message "Refresh failed due to gateway configuration issues.".

We are not using any gateway, since our mysql is available online.

The connection to mysql is almost standard, I use a sub-domain name with a TLS certificate and a login/password authentication, only the port is not the standard one.

Can someone point me what can be the error ?

Best regards,

Régis

      Hello,

      Thank you for your help.

I cannot add a gateway, my server is online and on a dedicated debian server.
I only found an executable for Windows.

Or did I missed someting ?

      Regards,

To summarize for those who have the same issue.

From what I understood, even if datasource is online, we need to install a gateway on our network.

Power BI online will not connect directly to online datasource but will use the gateway (or something like this).
