Refresh failed: Before the data import for finished, its data source timed out
Hello, I have just switched my data source from google drive to PostgreSql but then all my dashboards aren't refreshing anymore. See the error message below
Last refresh failed: Fri Oct 23 2020 12:19:01 GMT+0300 (Eastern European Summer Time)
Before the data import for finished, its data source timed out. Double-check whether that data source can process import queries, and if it can, try again.Hide details

Hi there
The error is a data source timeout issue. If you can update your data source to have a longer timeout!

Hi, thanks for your responses.
I have updated the timeout in the data source. It works fine on desktop but on PowerBI online, it timesout after 2hrs though I set the timeout to 3hrs

bolarinwa Have you found any solution for this issue? I am facing the same issue.

Hi bolarinwa ,
Do you mean that the schedule refresh failed after change the data source from google drive to PostgreSql? Whether the report can run and refresh successfully in Power BI Desktop after changed the data source to PostgreSql? Is there any other data source besides PostgreSql included in report?
In addition, please follow the steps in the following links to extend the timeout duration just as GilbertQ suggested:
Set a max run time / timeout for Power Query
Setting Timeout Value in Powerquery
Best Regards
