Refresh fail impact on dataset

Team, I know if the refresh fails on the services. The service keeps the existing copy of the dataset. So the dashboard remains intact. Can someone share with me the link that is the same mentioned in Microsoft documents?

    I am not sure that there actually is any documentation detailing this. It is just a known ways of working.
