Refresh dataset kept fail

Hi,

I am looking for help to my Power BI dataset refresh problem.

I don't have problem when refresh the data inside the Power BI Desktop.  Once I published it, I tried to schedule the auto refresh.  It keep saying credential provide invalid (see attached picture 1).  I checked the gateway configuration.  It is good.  I check the credential it is good (see picture below).  What am I missing?  Any help is appreciate.  Thanks.

I receive the same error.  In Desktop, can refresh report and it returns up to date information.  When published to Service refresh fails says that 1 or more datasource lacks permission error.  In Service, the DataSource credentials is GREYED out.  As an organisation, we are not allowed to have Personal Gateway, must use the business one.  The report is built on data via connecting to on site SQL Management Server, have also imported pre existing sql scripts, and some data comes from an Excel spreadsheets held either in our On Site Sharepoint folder, or in our network folders.   On Desktop, go to data source settings, cleared them, then re entered Credentials = Windows and Privacy Level = Organisational for all of them.  also checked that the Global settings matched.  Saved report and was able to Refresh without issue.  Re rublished to Served.  Tried Refresh, get the same error.  Please advise what else we need to check and do, also is their a troubleshooting document that covers this, thank you for your help

I've seen this happen a time or two. Make sure you still click the "Edit Credentials" and log in again. Furthermore, it oculd be a Security Level setting. If you have the Data Source set as "Organizational" in the Power BI Desktop, make sure you select the Same when Editing Credentials in the Power BI Service.

Thank you Erokor.  Update "edit credential" doesn't resolve the problem.  I also checked my security level too and it is adequate.

By checking your security level is adequate do you mean it Matches? If one is lower than the other - it will not allow a refresh. Yours has to be the same but not lower than what is selected before publishing.

On an extended note. Are you sure you can navigate to that specific site/table via a web browser?

Yes, I can get to the specific site/file/table via a web browser.

I set my credential the same for both Power BI desktop and dataset.picture3.png

I imagine the same is true for the WasteWarriors subsite listed as well?

Yes, it is.

Why are you using a gateway to SharePoint? It is on prem? If not, just use the SharePoint credentials area and skip the gateway for that datasource.

MCSA: BI Reporting

It doesn't appear that they are using a gateway (the slider is in the off position). They will still be required to enter credentials to prove they have access to that sharepoint list.

Erokor is right.  I didn't use gateway.  That cloud connection is just shown where the data source is from when I get the data.
