Refresh a report

I have built a series of BI reports,My primary data sources are taken from the SQL, but all reports have additional sources saved from my desktop . I need a mechanism for the report(s) to auto-refresh on a schedule so that the updates are not dependent on my presence and ability to refresh manually.

    Hey,

     

    if you want to schedule refresh and you data sources that are on your desktop like Excel file or csv files, you should put these files to onedrive for business or even better into a Sharepoint online  library.

    Files in onedrive  for business or Sharepoint online can update automatically.

     

    Automatic data refresh of data that resides in an on-premises SQL Server needs an on-premises gateway, this article will get you started with the on-premises gateway: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-gateway-onprem
