My question was about the workload. Sounds like you are doing more Import Mode refreshes than Direct Query. In that case you need a minimum of 16GB RAM. Your original consideration would work.

Super UserThe one you mentioned sounds good for starters (have at least two cluster members!). You can monitor the load on the gateways and then decide if you need to upgrade or if you can downgrade.
