RLS has moved to Power BI desktop

Hi,

I have some RLS set up on my workspace reports before, but suddenly, it showed an error today that

"RLS has moved to Power BI Desktop
Any previously defined RLS security is no longer working..."

Some of them were created by the previous dev so I'm unsure if I can set them up again, is there a way to get this back?

Thanks!

Hi, @daxnoob

It seems like the error message you are seeing is related to the recent changes in the way RLS (Row-Level Security) is handled in Power BI. According to the official documentation, RLS has moved to Power BI Desktop, and any previously defined RLS security is no longer working.

To resolve this issue, you need to recreate the RLS security in Power BI Desktop. You can do this by opening the report in Power BI Desktop, going to the Modeling tab, and then clicking on Manage Roles. From there, you can create new roles and define the RLS security rules for each role. Once you have defined the RLS security rules, you can publish the report to Power BI Service, and the RLS security will be applied to the report.
