I developed a report in desktop and created a role to apply RLS using userprincipalname().
It works fine for me in PBI desktop when I view as the role.
I published the app and applied security to the data set using the RLS model. I specifically added my username to this RLS role.
When I publish as an app, RLS is applied correctly to everyone except me. I can still see all rows, and I shouldn't.
Is there some configuration in the app that will apply the same RLS rules to the publisher (my own user account)?
Thanks
Thank you Henry, I believe you are correct. But to me this seems like RLS should apply to Admin too. If an admin wanted to see all rows there are other options to allow this. I may add this as a suggestion.
Hi @teasley ,
This may depend on your role in the workspace. For example, admin, member etc. (i.e. you have the appropriate edit permissions for the workspace). In this case, the configured rls will not take effect.
