RLS and Analyze in Excel, Groups

If I set RLS Security in the Desktop, publish to the service, associate AD groups with the role........does the RLS security still apply if a user pull the dataset into Excel with the Analyze in Excel function?  Thanks!  And just to confirm, can I apply an Outlook Distribution List as a security group to a Role within the PowerBI Service?

@Razorbx13 - RLS will either still apply or you won't be able to use Analyze in Excel. Yes, distribution (Office 365) groups can be used in RLS roles.
