RLS/OLS role effect on Co Pilot Q&A
- Anonymous1 year ago
Hi,rajendraongole1 ,thanks for your concern about this issue.
Your answer is excellent!
And I would like to share some additional solutions below.
Hello,jibran_wani .I am glad to help you.
I agree with the suggestion made by rajendraongole1
RLS and OLS affect data access rights in CoPilot and Q&A. Specifically, if a user is assigned a specific RLS or OLS role in Power BI, then they will be subject to the same data access restrictions when using Co Pilot and Q&A.
Because RLS is set up for data set, if the user themselves do not have access to the data in the data source due to RLS settings. If the user does not have access to the data source due to the RLS settings, then they will not have access to the corresponding data when using CoPilot and Q&A.

Hi jibran_wani - Yes, Row-Level Security (RLS) and Object-Level Security (OLS) restrictions are enforced in Power BI's Q&A feature, ensuring that users can only access data they're permitted to see.
Regarding Copilot, while specific documentation on its interaction with RLS and OLS is limited, it's reasonable to expect that it adheres to the same security protocols as other Power BI features. Therefore, RLS restrictions should apply to Copilot, ensuring users only access authorized data.
