RLS - Add member roles

Hello everyone,

 

I already created my roles in my power bi desktop using this:

 

[EMAIL] = USERPRINCIPALNAME()
 
I published this in powerbi service, and added the emails to their assigned role. 
 
Question: is it possible that the emails assigned to the role will be removed or overwritten if i publish the report again but with some updates with the data?


I'm kinda confused with this limitation on the powerbi documentation, can anyone explain this? thank you

no it won't change, just make sure you have the same structure the is related to the row level records.

no it won't change, just make sure you have the same structure the is related to the row level records.

also what do you mean by the same structure?

like how the filter of the users is going to the table that has the values, the filter flow should stay so it would filter as per the rls.

what are the cases or scenarios that may remove/overwrite the email that i set in the power bi service? so that i can avoid these scenarios. thank you

can you explain the FAQs and the consideration and limitations? i'm quite confuse. thank you

the consideration and limitations are for the rls created on service, not when created in Power bi desktop.

 

the FAQ, i didn't understand what's related to this question, there might be more info about it.
