RE: Power BI service RLS and Access levels issue

In the microsoft 365 admin center there are two email id's for a user:

1.  - Primary email address

2.  - username aliases email address

Both the email addresses are mandarory for communication purposes.

The source file - Excel file is loaded with the  for this user.

Currently I am using the dynamic RLS by using the userprincipalname() function.

Now in the power bi service when I am adding the user email to the RLS, it is taking the  for this user, And also for granting the access levels the power bi service is also taking the  for this user.

I need help in figuring what needs to be done either in the power bi service or Microsoft 365 admin portal, so that the power bi service will take the  instead of  while adding this user email to the rls and also giving the access level in the power bi service.

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Hi @vinay377

I would suggest chatting to your network admin or looking to remove the alias email so that there is only one email address per user?

Hi @GilbertQ

In this scenario, both the emails are mandatory for the user for communication point view. So, we cannot remove the the aliases username email from the microsoft 365 admin portal.

I have mentioned the same in the above post as well.

Please let me know if there is any other way to takle this issue.

Hi @vinay377

I am not sure how else to do this, I would chat to your network admin to be able to see how to configure this.
