RDLMigration tool

Hi, I am attempting migrate some SSRS reports from .rdl format to Power BI native format using the RDLMigration tool available from https://github.com/microsoft/RdlMigration

However the instructions to register the app seem out of date, as the URL https://dev.powerbi.com/apps takes you to the Power BI service via a login page.

Has anyone successfully registered the application recently?

Thanks.

Those are old instructions that are out dated. I resolved the issue by visiting https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/power-platform/products/power-bi/developers and clicked Getting Started. Then select 'Start setting up your environment' followed by 'Embed for your customers'. You can then return to follow the original instructions from GitHub https://github.com/microsoft/RdlMigration

Hi @markp9692 ,

1.To register your application with Power BI, follow these steps:

a. Go to the [Power BI app registration page](https://dev.powerbi.com/apps) .
b. Sign in with your existing account.
c. Provide an Application Name for your app.
d. Select Native for the Application Type.
e. Choose the necessary access permissions for your application. At a minimum, you'll need:
- Read all Workspaces
- Read and write all datasets
- Read and write all reports

2. After registration, you'll be provided with an Application ID. This ID is crucial for authenticating your application with Power BI services.

If you encounter any issues during registration, consider checking the documentation. In some cases, you may need an admin's approval for the app ID to work.

Best Regards,

Neeko Tang
