Quickbooks online Purchase table refresh in Service

Hello

The Quickbooks online Purchase table (obtained via power bi béta connector) refresh well in Desktop but doesn't refresh in Service (100% error rate) ; as a results all my reports using that table can not be refreshed.

The error message doen't help (A request for a connection from the data source pool could not be granted. Retrying the evaluation may solve the issue.)

Why would a table refresh behavior be different between Destop and Service? Is there a workaround other than refreshing in Desktop, publishing and re-sharing?

Many thanks

  • There can be many reasons - mashup engine mismatches, the word "beta" in the name of the connector, missing libraries in the service etc.  If you have a Pro license, raise a ticket.

    Hi vozkan ,

To refresh the Quickbooks online data in Power BI Service, recommend you install and configure the on premise data gateway (Enterprise mode), add this Quickbooks online data source to gateway , and then you can configure schedule refresh. See more : On-premises data gateway , Add a data sourceConfigure scheduled refresh .

    • Add a data source to the gateway: Log into PowerBI.com and from the Settings menu, select Manage Gateways and select your gateway.
    • Select the option to "Allow user's custom data connectors to refresh through this gateway cluster."
    • Click Apply to save your changes.
    • Click the option to add a data source to the gateway.
    • In the Data Source Settings section, enter a name for the data source and in the Data Source Type menu select CData Power BI Connector for QuickBooks Online.
    • In the Data Source Name box that is displayed, enter the system DSN: CData Power BI QuickBooksOnline.

In addition, beginning on August 1, 2020, Intuit will no longer support Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) for QuickBooks Online. When you use OAuth2 for authorizing QuickBooks Online, after August 1, 2020, only the following browsers will be supported:

    • Microsoft Edge
    • Mozilla Firefox
    • Google Chrome
    • Safari 11 or newer (Mac only)

    For reference:

Publish Real-Time QuickBooks Online Data to PowerBI.com

    Best Regards,

    Amy
