Quickbooks Online - Formatting Data

Hello

We connected Power BI "Service" with Quickbooks Online using Content Packs. While it's great with different measures, we are unable to format the data that shows in the reports/visualization. All of the data is in numbers, but we are trying to figure if this can be displayed in USD. (Whole number / USD format).

Any idea how to edit the formats of the data in modeling. I know the PBIX is not available for the content packs but when we enter the data model, the formatting is disabled. Appreciate any help. Thank you.

Hi @afvijay ,

It is not supported to format data in Service. For a workaround, you could try connecting Quickbooks Online to Power BI Desktop. But, the connector is still under development. It might be the same as the final vision. Future changes may cause your queries to be incompatable.

Thanks @v-xuding-msft The PBD with Quickbooks Online dataset doesn't have General Ledger Measures that are present in the PB Services version.

Both PBD and PBS have differences in the data set and brings its own set of issues. We were hoping to pick one and get started but looks like Microsoft is not making it easy to incrementally build on one connector.  Maybe we missed it, but do you know if PB Desktop QBO Connector we should build on as opposed to PB Services version of the connector?

I am not sure why the formatting is not allowed in this connector? We are using salesforce.com and other connectors which allow formatting. It makes no sense, why formatting is not allowed when its a basic requirement.

As always, thank you for your kind reply. VJ
