Questions about copied dataset from content pack

How is the copied dataset from an original within a content pack being created and stored?  Is the new dataset being stored on the cloud as a new copy or something else?  When working with sensitive data this is an important aspect to understand.  Thanks.

When you create a copy of a content pack, it will create a new dataset stored on cloud. It's a snapshot version of dataset that you can edit without impacting the source dataset. See: Work with organizational content packs in Power BI
