Hi,
I have some Power Query on my report on which I used parameter to dynamically select a column from my data source to process.
now this Power Query itself is working just fine on Power BI Desktop every time I updated the parameter from query editor.
but after I publish it to Power BI service, even if after I update my parameter value every time I update my dataset, there's an error that shows me the select column select process still selecting column with my default parameter value (I set a default parameter value which shows a sample data)
This is the image of my parameter value on Power BI Desktop Before I Publish it into Power BI service :
And then after I upload it to Power BI Service I update the parameter into :
But when I update my dataset this error, which looks like my parameter value are still on its default value occurred :
Tried to download the published pbix file and when I check the parameter inside it, it is indeed not updated :
now, there are some other questions with the same issue as I'm experiencing right now. for instance this question , I've tried all the fix written there and some other sources like enable load on my parameter, but nothing works. as it already been more than a year since the question for the same problem is asked but there still no fix either from Power BI developer teams or another developer I'm opening a new question.
any input regarding this matter would be appreciated
Hi @Anonymous ,
From the document Data refresh in Power BI, we know that query parameters are only supported for Import mode datasets. DirectQuery/LiveConnect mode does not support query parameter definitions. you may check if your connection mode is Import.
If you still have this issue for Power BI, you'd better create a support ticket in Power BI Support , Scroll down and click "CREATE SUPPORT TICKET", or go to Issue forum to get further help.
Best Regards,
Amy

Hi @GilbertQ
it's not the latest but I have version 2.82.5858.1161 (June 2020 edition).
unless there's a big bugfix in July I don't think it would have any impact on my problem...
