Hi,
When my PowerBI service client is doing it's scheduled refresh of my dataset, say at 10:00, the following things happend.
At 10:00 PowerBI service web-app says the refresh is in progress
At 10:15 on SQL i can see the queries start
At 10:15 on SQL the two biggest/most complex queries are set as "cancelled" inside the Query Store SQL statistics.
At 10:30 on SQL the two biggest/most complex queries are rerun and set as "completed".
Why do only these 2 queries show as cancelled? What is the PowerBI service doing that allows it to cancel two of the queries and then rerun them?
When manually executing the queries they take less than 10 minutes, but because of these large delays and reruns, the whole refrehs takes upwards of an hour on the service portal.
Data resides within an on-prem MSSQL Server, utilize an on-premise data gateway.
it can happen at any time, especially when Power BI feels like it needs to be "Evaluating..." something.
The post is about the reserve though?
I see two quries only when updating from the service, not when updating from desktop.
