Hello,
I'm developing a template app which should be distributed over the app source store to the end clients. I've created an app workspace with the option for "template app development", added some reports to the new app and released it in the preproduction stage:
Further, I've installed the App on another tenant's account (in order to test how it will behave for end clients) using the Link. The installed version on my "end client" account is "Version 8". After that, I've made some changes and updated the app to "Version 9" and propagated it to the preproduction stage. Unfortunately, my end client hasn't received the update and sees the old "Version 8" app in his "Apps"-Workspace.
My question is: how can I push the App Updates to the end clients? Does this happen automatically for "Production" apps, or is the update lifecycle the same as for "Preproduction" apps? What is the desired behaviour of different actors in the update procedure (e.g. App Dev Team, Power BI Admin at the client side, end clients)?
@alihassan Hey. Did you find the answer you were looking for?
I'm also developing template apps to be listed on Appsource. My concerns are:
1. What you asked earlier
2. What about the scheduled refresh of published template apps (on Appsource)? Would ISVs manage it or end users (end users won't have any workspace access) or Microsoft? @v-shex-msft
HI @alihassan ,
You can take a look at following document about authoring and publish template app:
