I recently created a push dataset using a Logic app that added data from social media to Azure table storage.
It all worked pretty well
Could I do the same thing with data from a source system if you could access the back end database? I think this gets a lot more complex because its not just new records, its updated records too
I wonder if this is only available for Sensor data and data like twitter from social media>
As of now you cannot update records in streaming datasets. You can only flush and fill. This may change in the future when XMLA Write is extended to streaming datasets.
Taking rows from a SQL server and pushing them into the dataset is certainly possible. But it's kinda awkward, as that data generally comes from a different source (like a sensor or ticker) and it would make much more sense to stuff it into the dataset directly from the original source, at the time it (the data) is generated.
