Publishing from PBI Desktop to PBI Service issues

Hello experts,

Apologizing now for the long windedness, but I wanted to provide as much detail as possible.

I recently discovered a problem with PBI Service that did not exist a couple of weeks ago.

First, I noticed I cannot Upload a PBI Desktop report directly to My Workspace;  I do not get an error, it just says it's uploading and to wait a few minutes for it to be available, but it never does become available or visible.  This is how I have always published my reports and they always worked perfectly just like they did in PBI Desktop.

Now, when I Publish my report from PBI Desktop, it's immediately visible in My Workspace, however, it does not function correctly:

1.  Some visuals do not show any data (Waterfall visual and Slicers)

2.  None of my filters work (Visual level, Page or All Page level), whatever they were filtered on when I published the report is what it is filtered on, but you cannot change the filter because no data shows up for a choice.

3.  Also now, while in PBI Service, if I go into Edit mode I do not see the Visualization menu, and there is no Data in the Data menu.   However, in My Workspace the data got published along with the report.  Very strange.  

 

I did recently update from version v2.88.802.0 to V2.122.1066.0 64-bit last week and that's when I noticed I could not Upload from My Workspace and then I noticed all the other issues after Publishing the report instead.  I uninstalled PBI Desktop and re-installed the older version from our company's application site but the problem remained.  I have since updated the version back to V2.122 and the problem still remains.  I have signed out and back in, rebooted, etc...

 

I have tried making all filters report wide, and not page or visual specific - problem remains.

I have tried to make a very simple 1 page report - problems remain in PBI Service after publishing (filters with no data, no visualization menu, no data menu)

 

I'm not sure if IT did something to the PBI Service, I have a ticket in but I see other people out there having similar issues but the solutions do not work for me (changing filters to report wide, not using page or visual filters).

 

I only noticed this since the ability to Upload stopped working and even older dashboards that I created and uploaded previously that were working fine before now share the same problems.

 

Any ideas?

Update:  I realized I was always using Chrome, I just tried Edge and everything seems to be working as it used to.  We must have made company wide changes to Chrome or Chrome made changes and I need to do something in the settings.
