Published App shows all hidden pages
I have a company report that I've published to a workspace, containing about 10 hidden pages, and then updated the App for the workspace.
When I view the report in the workspace, the pages are all hidden correctly.
When I view the report in the App, all the hidden pages are visible.
This didn't used to happen.
I recently enabled the PBIR format and upgraded the report. Might it be that?
I have tried deleting it and redeploying it to no avail.

Yes, it's now fixed. Microsoft responded to the bug I raised and resolved quite quickly. Fix published direct to the service with no change on the user side required.

Hi @reubwork,
Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.
It looks like you are having an issue with the hidden pages being visible when you view the report in PowerBi App. This issue can be related to enabling the PRIB format or due to upgrade in report.
As for now you can verify the report settings that the hidden pages are correctly marked as hidden in PowerBi App. Before this make sure you clear the cache and check App permissions aren't configured to show hidden pages.
You can also check about the newer updates or enhancements in the PBIR format by going through the given link:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/developer/embedded/projects-enhanced-report-format
If none of the above resolves the issue, then try to recreate the App and make sure to review the visibility settings. Or you can contact Microsoft Support as it seems the issue is related to PBIR upgrade.
Please refer below link on how to raise a contact support or support ticket.

If I misunderstand your needs or you still have problems on it, please feel free to let us know.
Best Regards,
Hammad.

Thanks Hammad,
Can you be more explicit about what you mean by this ?
"Before this make sure you clear the cache and check App permissions aren't configured to show hidden pages."
Clear what cache?
And where is that App permission?

This is a current limitation with the PBIR format. You can find the article here that describes the limitation. Quoting now:
"PBIR is currently in preview. Keep the following in mind:
- Service limitations/bugs
- ...
- Hidden pages are exposed in Power BI Apps navigation."
This article on the support forms notes that Microsoft is working on it, but it is not yet fixed.
Edit: If you take a look at both the links, it looks like updates were made in the week of 1/26/2025 that removed the limitation. You can disregard this post. It's being rolled out this week, so even if its not fixed right now it should be shortly (according to that last link).

Hi @reubwork,
Clearing Cache means clearing the browsing history as sometimes even if you make changes, the previous settings are saved in the cache memory and the new settings won't reflect unless you remove the previous ones.
If I misunderstand your needs or you still have problems on it, please feel free to let us know.
Best Regards,
Hammad.

Hi Hammad,
None of these suggestions have worked.
1. The App permission setting was already disabled per the default
2. Clearing the browser cache, or just using a different browser altogether has no impact
3. All the page.json files in the source have;

... note that this is after deleting the report from the workspace, saving it locally as pbix and republishing it.
... and the report in the workspace itself displays correctly.

Hello @reubwork ,
in the app, you should click to view the reports from the audience section.

Ok, yes.
Hiding report pages is not an option when you do that. Only hiding whole reports.

Hi @reubwork ,
Try this -
Update App Settings:
In the Power BI Service, go to the App Workspace > App Settings > Navigation Pane.
Manually set the visibility of pages in the App and re-publish.
If none of the above works, revert the report to the PBIX format, hide the pages again, and redeploy.
I hope it will be helpful.
Thanks,
Sai Teja

Hi Sai,
"In the Power BI Service, go to the App Workspace > App Settings > Navigation Pane.
Manually set the visibility of pages in the App and re-publish."
I think you're referring to the Content settings for the app. This controls visibility of whole reports, not report pages.
If that's not what you meant, then I don't know what you meant.
"If none of the above works, revert the report to the PBIX format, hide the pages again, and redeploy"
Yes. But I'm raising this here because I think it's a bug.

Ouch..
"If none of the above works, revert the report to the PBIX format, hide the pages again, and redeploy"
This didn't work either - redeploying with overwriting the existing report . **bleep**. I thought that would. 😯
Going to need to delete the report completely and redeploy.
