Publish to Web - Check your connection to the Internet Error

Beginner / Manager here:

Created a Dashboard that we want to share and not have people sign into Microsoft and / or subscribe to PowerBI...all of the information displays with the exception of one graph; we get an error msg saying "A network error has occurred. Please check your connection to the internet."

The details are copied below.  Please anyone?  We feel like we are so close....Thank you!

Hi @reduvaSMG ,

Since the error is stating that it is a network error, maybe you should confirm that the Power BI URL is being allowed by your system.  Or, is the permissions on the report or data beoing displayed in that visual different than the rest?

The other option would be to view the graph and confirm that this is a "standard" graph and not a visual that is requesting extra information or permissions than a standard visual.

And, have you tried different people trying the report from different domains/locations?  That might help pinpoint if it is your area or if it is a "universal" thing.  If it is universal that would point back to your network.

Thanks collinq...figured it out, it was along the lines of what you mention re "standard" values; one of the graphed items was a derivative/calculation of several other "raw" variables.  once we treated that as 'special' my coder was able to fix it.  I'll see if I can get the details for anyone who has had a similar issue.

Thanks!

Hi, @reduvaSMG

Is the source of the visual object that is not displaying on your Dashboard properly configured for the gateway? You can check if the report's visual objects can be refreshed properly and if the data source credentials are valid.

Sometimes, browser extensions or plug-ins may interfere with the correct display of Power BI content. Try viewing the control panel in an incognito/private window, or view the control panel with browser extensions disabled.

If you want to share the control panel without requiring users to log in, make sure that the “Embed in public site” setting is enabled.

Hi Yang:

The problem was in one of the data sources; it was a derived (calculated) value from the others.  It is now fixed.  I will attempt to post the actual solution, my coder figured it out.
