Project Online Pack - Accessing Calculated Fields/Columns
StarwoodTech Don't know much about the starter pack, unless you are talking about the Content Pack. The Power BI Service (Online) doesn't have any of the modeling capabilites (You can't add or access calculated columns/measures), you need to do that in the Desktop. Since Project Online still isn't an accessible data source in the Desktop (to my knowledge) - you would need to access the data in a different way. (Odata for example).
Yes, it was the Contact Pack. So the trick how to open these for editing in Power BI desktop, which I can't seem to do because I don't have a dataset file as I would with my own reports. Unless these are available somewhere. It would be helpful and mutually beneficial for Microsoft to make these available, since it would promote use through knowledge I'd think.
StarwoodTech Some of the content packs are available as data sources in the Desktop, but there are far more that are not. You will not be able to use a Content Pack as a datasource in the Desktop.
You need to access the information from Project Online in a supported data source. One way I know you can do that is via the Odata feed, but you will need to manually pull down the data and create your own model.

Apologies. My fault for not providing this added info, but I am already working with the Project Online connector in Power BI Desktop. I have created some reports and dashboards to this point.
However, some of the fields used in the dataset of the Content Packs is not included or made available. These appear to be custom caluculated fields are that are used within the PBI dataset for the content pack only. Therefore, I have been trying to track down a way to connect to the same dataset the content pack does so that I might be able to gain access to those fields and how they are calculated. Much of what I wish to do with my own report is alreayd done in some places of the content pack, just presented differently. That appears to be where I'm blocked at the moment.
