Problem with the report url

I've observed a change in the URLs of Power BI reports. In the latest version, the 'ReportSection' segment seems to be missing. Previously, the URLs followed this format:
https://app.powerbi.com/groups/me/reports/b7dea1d4-d9f0-47aa-a88d-xxxxxxxxxxxx/ReportSection2?
However, in the latest version, it's structured differently, like so:
https://app.powerbi.com/groups/me/reports/b7dea1d4-d9f0-47aa-a88d-xxxxxxxxxxxx/2?

Please confirm if there have been any updates or changes related to the 'ReportSection' in the latest version of Power BI?

Hello,

Found a workaround for this. If you use the part of the url in pink, it will work in your automation.

https://app.powerbi.com/groups/11111dsa-22w2-8a2w-456q-7ae8i91q012/reports/ f11y22j33-2584-7893-63we...

Can you emphasize what part is pink? I can't seem to see 🙂

@nithishram do you have a solution for this? I am having the same problem. Can't find the Report Section in URL.

Yeah we where using regular expressions to get the url. What is your use case? how are you using the url

I want to create a Power Automate Flow in order to send a specific visual from a specific page to email. In one of the steps, I need to add the page name, but I need the ID from the URL, not the actually page name. And can't find this. I want to mention that I have already created this type of flow in the past for another dashboard and it's working.

@SaiTejaTalasila Thank you for your answer. My problem is that the page of the report does not have the last part in the URL: ReportSectionxxxxx and I dont know why, because in other reports it is visible.

Hi  @Elina_Mirin  ,

Please go through that article. If something is really changed in power bi internally you can identify easily with power bi embedded playground.I don't think anything changed in the internal structure .In other I have a bunch of power automate flows and I have embedded reports in PPT's none of them got impacted.

Thanks,

Sai Teja

Is your page actually a report or is it a dashboard?

@lbendlin  it's a report

Make a different page the default page and republish. Then you will see the section id.

@lbendlin I have tried, but still Report Section is missing.

If you have a Pro license you can open a Pro ticket at https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/newsupportticket/powerbi
Otherwise you can raise an issue at https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Issues/idb-p/Issues .

Ok. I will try. Thank you!

Same issue, normally the page with no 'ReportSection' part in the URL is the first page (makes sense).

Now it's the tab part way through my tabs (somewhere in the middle), this tab/URL happens to be the the most recently modified/duplicated tab which I have published if that helps to ID the problem.

I need the embedded URL to be correct for embedded PowerPoint PowerBI Addins.

Hi,

I'm not seeing any changes in our report URL's.But few days back I have seen changes in the URL's while using bookmarks in one my report. As per my knowledge there will be impact on embedded reports/embedded visuals incase if there is such changes. In our tenant we have 10k+ users no one reported it.
