Problem with passing parameters in URL. Service redirects to report without filter.

Hello All,

I am attempting to pass a parameter to a report that is on a workspace.  My issue is that when I click on the link that is supposed to take me to the filtered report, the portion of the URL that contains the report disappears as the page is rendering.  The result is that I am now viewing an unfiltered report.

The odd part is that if I hit back on my browser (tried in IE, Edge, Chrome, and Firefox) the URL then displays the filter and filters the report as I would expect it to.

Does anyone know why the report would re-direct like this?

Thanks,

Alex

P.S.

Some more details:

This is the encoded URL that I am using:

https://app.powerbi.com/groups/6a51777d-f759-4a7e-aa8b-67ea8b3c73a8/reports/4ea43cd4-c1b3-43b0-b148-...

When I first navigate to this page, it only navigates to:

https://app.powerbi.com/groups/6a51777d-f759-4a7e-aa8b-67ea8b3c73a8/reports/4ea43cd4-c1b3-43b0-b148-...

If I hit the back button, it then properly shows the address as:

https://app.powerbi.com/groups/6a51777d-f759-4a7e-aa8b-67ea8b3c73a8/reports/4ea43cd4-c1b3-43b0-b148-...

And the report is filtered properly (by Worker_Personnel = W1161)

Hi @Anonymous,

I'd like to suggest you manually login your account before paste the url. If you direct paste the url string without sign in your account, it will auto login and redirect to report page without filter.

Hi there, when you have created the link in your report, have you changed the Data Categorisation to be a Web URL?

I have successfully got it working in the past.

Hi,

Yes, the data categorization has been set to Web URL and it is properly displaying a the URL icon.

It is very strange because I have a different report that properly links to a different filtered report but I cannot get this one to work despite using the same syntax/settings.

Hi @Anonymous, i have same problem. You fix this problem? Please share the solution
