Problem buying premium licence in organization

Good afternoon everyone,

In my organization we want to buy a couple of power BI premium licenses, but when I tried to enter the Microsoft 365 admin, it said that I am not an organization administrator... When this account is an administrator in my Google Workspace administration. I can't do it because my organization mail is made in Google workspace?? Do you know what solution I can have? Should I buy the license individually? Do I need to migrate to M365?

Thank you!

Hi @diegoriveros199 ,

If you have an existing organization (tenant), you must be in the Microsoft 365 Global Administrator role or Billing Administrator role to purchase subscriptions and licenses.

There are two ways for individuals to get a Power BI license. They can sign up for or purchase a license for themselves, or they can rely on an administrator to assign them a license.

If it does not help, please provide more details.

Hi @diegoriveros98 ,

To buy a Power BI premium license, you need to be a Microsoft 365 administrator. This role is different from the Google Workspace administrator role. You can’t use your Google Workspace account to sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center or buy Power BI licenses.

  • You can create a new Microsoft 365 account with a different email address and assign yourself the administrator role. Then you can buy the Power BI licenses and assign them to your users.
  • You can use an existing Microsoft 365 account that has the administrator role and buy the Power BI licenses from there.
  • You can use the following steps to move your data, email, and users from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365 for business. Use the articles and videos in each step to help you prepare and configure your environment to migrate and use the migration tools available to you in the Microsoft Admin center.

But what happens if I don't have M365?? We use Google Services... There is any way to be a M365 administrator?
