Pro License User cannot publish to Power BI Service Workspace

Hi ,

I have assigned a Pro License to a user and added him as workspace member. When he published power bi report he gets error " only Power BI Pro License user can publish to this workspace" .

  1. I have checked the user has the license
  2. Asked user to log out and login from PBI Desktop
  3. I have created a new workspace to isolate if the issue with workspace but no luck so far.

Any one else has experienced this issue ?

Thanks

Can you please check the user license details in O365 admin portal.

In that check for the Products and if Power BI (Free) and Power BI (Pro) enabled.

Please disable Power BI (Free) and click save.

Try to logout the power bi service and login to check for the Power Bi Service.

Path:- Settings >> Manage Group Storage >> It will show you the license (Free/Pro)

As suggested above, Please check check and let us know if you have any concerns.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Please suggest the user access Power BI service then go to desired workspace, click on Get Data -> Files to publish the report, check if this issue will still occur.

In addition, you may check if your account subscription to confirm if pro license correct activated on this user's account.

If you still have this issue for Power BI, you'd better create a support ticket in Power BI Support , Scroll down and click "CREATE SUPPORT TICKET", or go to Issue forum  to get further help.

Best Regards,

Amy

Can you confirm that the user does not have a Power BI Free license?
