I create a report in Power BI desktop using data that we hold in an Analysis Server. This report is then uploaded online - we need to pin various items to the dashboard from a variety of different sources so the dashboard approach is ideal. The report updates every day, but the visualisations that I have pinned to the dashboad remain the same.
Report visualisation as at this morning:
Dashboard visualisation from 2 days ago but information should match up to the figures given above -
There have been many posts for this over the past few years but appears to be no resolution - can you offer any advice? I have several dashboards but pinning live pages do not have the same effect as the dashboards.
Thanks
Hi there. There is a trick when pinning a dashboard. You must be sure you understand of the filters involved on the visualization you are pinning to make sure that the new data will flow. For example, if you filter by August a card and then pin it thinking about showing last month, you will get blank in september. Dates can be a pain.
Please check your filter context. A good way to avoid this is pinning with relative date filter like "this month". You will know you always have the last data.
I hope that make sense.
Happy to help!
Hi there,
Thanks for the reply - I can understand where you are coming from but there are no date filters in the report - its just a count of numbers so shouldn't make a difference
