Print a Page and Export options gone

Good morning/afternoon all,

I got a message from a power user this morning stating that their print option is gone alongside their export button. I went in to review it and still had both buttons. The user has all proper roles and was printing yesterday. Is anyone else seeing these issues? Is so, does anyone have a fix? Could this be a PBI issue in general?

Thank you,

JC

Hi @john_carpenter

A power user reported that their Print and Export buttons suddenly disappeared, even though they still have the correct permissions and were able to use those options yesterday. When you checked, both buttons were still visible for you, which suggests that the issue might not be tied to roles or report settings. This kind of behavior typically points to a temporary Power BI Service UI glitch, browser cache issue, or Microsoft-side update/bug affecting only some users. Other admins have seen similar sporadic button disappearances when Power BI rolls out UI changes or security patches. The recommended steps are to have the user try another browser, clear cache or use incognito mode, and verify they're not in a restricted consumption view. If the buttons still don't appear, it’s likely a short-term Power BI platform issue and should resolve once Microsoft's service refreshes—otherwise, reporting it to the admin portal or checking the Power BI support page/service health would be the next step.

Hi. If there is a problem in global power bi you will find it here: https://support.fabric.microsoft.com/support/

Otherwise I guess something has changed at your tenant. It can be permissions at tenant level, or the user in security groups for specific actions. If you can export/print but they can't, then it's permission. If none can, check report or tenant settings regarding export or print. If the button of a visual was removed, then the developer could have hidden a header icon button.

I hope that helps,

Hi @john_carpenter

I second what @ibarrau said. This is likely a change in tenant settings. Specifically I would guess these two:

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/fabric/admin/service-admin-portal-export-sharing#download-reports

and

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/fabric/admin/service-admin-portal-export-sharing#print-dashboards-...
