Print Feature changed in PowerBI?

Previously I was able to design pages that were "print compatible" for users to print from the PowerBI app.

Today when I was testing it seems as if the print function has been adjusted or changed on the PowerBI side?

PowerBI use to compact everything to one page regardless of the view selected but now it seems to either print the "actual size" (so very zoomed in) view or prints "off the page" when a user selects "fit to width" or "fit to page".

Is there a fix for this?

Hi @Rewind ,

You can try the following two methods:

1. Export the report to PDF and then print;

2. Using Google Chrome as a workaround:

  • Choose the virtual printer that will allow you to generate a PDF (in Windows 10, it’s Microsoft Print to PDF; in OSX, it’s Save as PDF).
  • Change Layout from portrait to landscape.
  • Tick the Background graphics checkbox (this will get the background colors of red and green to appear).
  • If the matrix gets cut off at the bottom, and the slicer dropdowns are missing, close and reopen the Print, this will fix the problem and the matrix and dropdowns will appear as expected.
  • Proceed with printing.

For more information, please refer to the documentation: Printing from the Power BI service
