Premium Capacity - Exceeding max renders limit?
Hi all,
I work at a consultant firm and we are consindering buying PBI premium capacity and have a workspace hosted at our tenant for our clients.
We can see that there is a cap on "Max. page renders at peak hour" at the capacity.
I am trying to figure our exactly what happens when the limit is exceeded.
Does the loading slow down? And if it does, by a factor of what? Or is access denied?

Hi. I don't think that was a restriction or limitation. It was more an approximation or guide. If you check microsoft docs they have removed the "renders" kpi. The real deal is the capacity itself. The cores and memory. If your capacity is not overloaded with more than the max renders, then I don't think there would be any issue. Microsoft doesn't specify that any more. On the other hand if you memory or cores are at a peak, you will experience the reports are really slow until the peak is down. There are approaches to cover that like autoscale, but that changes the budget.

Hi. Ty for your reply. Microsoft specifies a "Max. page renders at peak hour" range for each type of capacity solution. E.g. Premium P1 is set at 1200 - 2400 and P2 is 2400 - 4800. I guess it is specified for a reason and I wonder what happens if the max page renders is exceeded 🤔

Can you share where are you reading that? as far as I can see, that's not on the docs any more. It was a guide. I don't think it's going to creas if you have 2401 renders with P1 and the memory/core are not overloaded.
