Powerbi Export to Excel Option
Is there anyway we can create a Export to Excel button on our PowerBi dashboard? Which directly downloads the Excel file?
I have only tables in my report

I am assuming, you want to export table data from a published report in Power BI Service.
You can export tables directly from Table visuals.
Click table -> "..." -> "Export Data" ->Popup:
But, make sure data export is enabled in Tenant Settings:
- Admin Portal → Tenant Settings
- Enable Export data
- (Optional) Enable Allow live connections to export data if using semantic models
Once enabled, users will be able to export data directly from table visuals.
Hi,
This happends because the report is embedded using "Publish to web" option. Power BI disables export in this mode for security reasons as the reort is publically accessible.
You can share it via app OR you can use embed with "website or portal" option OR Power BI embedded will also work with authentication.

Hello ! Thankyou so much for the support and this will solve the problem but the problem now I am facing is that I can see those three dots on different visuals like slicers etc but not on my table !!
I have already enabled export options from the admin portal settings...
I have another organizational account and in that I can see those three dots and eventually that option to export but not in this one.. 😓

Click on the visual, make sure header icons are turned on for that visual and also more Option under header icon is turned on
An alternative way that you could look at this is to use the Analyze in Excel option where you create an Excel file that is connected to your Symantec model and then all that the users would need to do is to open the Excel file, click the refresh button and get the latest results. Yes, You can achieve it by using PowerAutomate, you can opt to either save it to any shared location Sharepoint/OneDrive as .csv/excel or you can also email the same to the logged in user email inbox by extracting email using userprinciplename() function.
Limitation to this functionality is that you can not download excel direclty on your desktop, it could only be saved on a shared location or cloud only.

Option 2) Paginated Report (best “button-like” experience)
- Build a Paginated Report (RDL) on the same dataset
- Add a button/link in your report that opens it
- Users can export directly to Excel from there
Option 3) Power Automate button
- Add a Power Automate visual
- Trigger a flow to export data and send/download file

Currently, Power BI does not provide the capability to add a custom button in reports that directly downloads data to Excel with a single click. The export to Excel feature is only available via the built-in option on each visual, where users click the three dots and select Export data. It is not possible to link this action to a custom button or automate it within the report interface.As an alternative, you may consider using Analyze in Excel, which allows users to work with an Excel file connected to the Power BI dataset. Users can open the file and refresh it to access the latest data. If a more structured export experience is needed, Paginated Reports are recommended, as they are specifically designed for exporting data to Excel and other formats in a controlled manner.
While a direct button driven export is not supported, these options offer practical solutions depending on your requirements.
