PowerBi Embedded Report permissions in SharePoint Online

I have a PowerBi report published and embedded in SharePoint (Communication site).. is there a way i can manage permissions from Sharepoint ?

Idea behind this integration was to allow users to access SharePoint site and let them interact with PowerBi report from SharePoint site rather individual reports... as of now i have to add them to SharePoint site as well as "Allow on PowerBi" as Read/Edit, Can it be only via SharePoint ?

Hi @Mayur_Exl24 , hello Wikkleyn_81, thank you for your prompt reply!

Quote from Microsoft:

Embedding a report in SharePoint Online doesn't automatically give users permission to view the report - you need to set view permissions in Power BI.

As a supplement, check the following if you only want to grant report permission instead of workspace permission:

You can’t use Microsoft 365 Unified groups for direct sharing and email subscriptions.
If you don’t want to specify individuals, you can use email-enabled distribution groups or security groups to share with multiple users.

More informatio for your reference:
Embed a report web part in SharePoint Online - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
Share Power BI reports and dashboards with coworkers and others - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

Best regards,

Joyce

Hi @Mayur_Exl24 The easiest way to manage the permission would be by using an O365 group in you instance. Grant the group permission to the SharePoint site and the Power BI workspace/app.
