Is it any limitation of PowerBI or need some settings in SQL server or others? the records count is about 80000 and use direct query mode. Please help, thanks.

    Hi chrislau3636,

As you mentioned, the error occurs when a visual attempts to query too much data for the server to complete the result with the available resources.  You may need to filter the visual to reduce the amount of data in the result currently. That way, the error might be resolved.

Repeating the error message is not helpful and frankly annoying. I don't want to filter my visuals to reduce the amount of data. My own junky hard-drive has no problem processing the stuff I am making. Why can't the web service?

      Hi v-yulgu-msft

I have see the the DirectQuery mode can support no less that 1 million rows (Our database only have 100000 rows). What is the limit with the available resources? Please advise, thanks.

      Hi v-yulgu-msft,

Could you elaborate a little bit on what the resources are? So if we would like to query this amount of data, should we upgrade the server on which SSAS is running, should we upgrade the computer on which Power BI Desktop is used or all computers that interact with reports via Power BI Service?
