PowerBI pdf gateway
When trying to refresh the dataset (contains a pdf file from sharepoint) on one of my powerbi reports I get this error message:
However the pdf is connected through sharepoint on a cloud location.
When I go to the dataset settings to set up the gateway as instructed by the above message I see that all data connections are cloud-based. It will not allow me to create or turn on a gateway.
has anyone else encountered this issue or have a solution ?

Can you confirm that you have the latest version of the gateway installed?
If you do then it appears that you will need to create a gateway data source to the PDF file in SharePoint online location.
How would I create a gateway to the sharepoint online location? I can only find resources for connecting to onsite data sources. Thanks!

You will have to install the gateway first only then you will be able to select it from the drop-down/list.
