PowerBI for organization

I'm currently researching which visualization tool to purchase for my organization, and I'm leaning towards Power BI. However, I need some clarification on the licensing and cost structure.

In my organization, I need:

  • 2 roles for users who will create and share dashboards
  • 25 roles for users who will view these dashboards

Could someone please explain how much this would cost on a monthly basis with Power BI, and how I would go about purchasing these licenses?

Thanks in advance for your help!

  • Tempest700 You will need wither 27 Pro licenses or 27 Premium Per User licenses which are $10/user/month and $20/user/month respectively. Best way is to find a CSP company and purchase from them as you can/should get a discount off of MSRP.

  • Thanks a lot for quick reply, so technically even 10$ per user Pro account will do the job? My organization is a bit new, so we want to start with the minimum

Tempest700 Yes. PPU adds things like deployment pipelines and larger semantic model sizes, stuff like that. But Pro has absolutely everything you need to get started.
