Hi Team,
New version of PowerBI desktop hanging while adding new data set for existing report. Not even responding after 5 to 10 minutes.

After reviewing the details you provided, I have identified few workarounds that may help resolve the issue. Please follow these Points:
Disable column profiling in Power Query (Column quality, distribution, and profile).
Turn off background data preview under Options > Data Load.
Use Performance Analyzer to identify slow queries or visuals.
Clear Power BI cache/workspace folders from AppData.
Reinstall or update Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime.
Test the PBIX file on an earlier stable version like March 2025.
