PowerBI add in for Power Point Teams presentation

I love the new feature to include a PowerBI report within a PowerPoint presentation, and everything seems to work great in both the App and Desktop version of the file until I try to Present using Teams.  The PowerBI report doesn't show up at all, or it shows up as a static image (I didn't designate it to be) that I can't interact with.
I used the link based on the Share with PowerPoint option.   Is this something that can't be done at this time, or is there something I'm missing in setting it up?

  • Hey jstpierre ,

Are you signed into Teams with the same userid that you are signed into Power Point and into Power BI?  Is there any RLS data in the report?  Then, what about licensing?  To view the data in PowerPoint, the user must have a Pro license (or Premium).

Thanks for the reply.   Yes - same userid for all the services and the report is shared from a premium workspace

        Hey jstpierre ,

If you do not think this is licensing I think that this is more of a Teams or maybe even a PowerPoint issue and not specifically tied to the Power BI piece.  I found a thread with this problem where one answer was thus:

"This is normal behavior, because you select Teams to show the PowerPoint editor screen. If you only have one screen you might be using the option to share the whole screen the last times? Than everyone will see the exact same thing as you do.

If you just want to share the presentation you would have to start the presentation, go back to Teams, share the presentation, and go back to the presentation."

I found that and other potential answers here:
