Hi,
We have a team of 4 PBI authors each member with a pro license. Everyone is able to deploy content to the PBI services and setup gateway connections for different datasets using different NT logins.
We want to do things different but without segregating duties. Does it make sense to another user and that the team can use to log into PBI services to set up setup gateway connections for the deployed datasets so that we don't have to take over the gateway configs every time we have to troubleshot why refreshes failed.
I have been trying to imagine how will this work or if there is someone out there that is doing it this way? or if it makes business sense because I imagine that user needs to be assigned a Pro license.

Hi @Anonymous ,
Is that you mean you want to fix the connection without taking over the dataset?
Maybe you can add one user a data source. If the connection has some issuses, the user can use his account to create a new dataset, in advance, via this data soure when the dataset works fine. Use this new dataset to line up the problem areas.

Thank you @v-chenwuz-msft
After more research I realised the take over button makes sense in terms on traceability and audits. The attached link is actually the approach that I went for to solve my problem.
I am not aware of any other option at the moment. You may want to raise an idea if this is important to you.
