    Hi Anonymous,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Forum Community.

The error suggests an authentication failure when Power BI attempts to connect to the SQL source using Managed Identity.

To resolve this, first, ensure that Managed Identity is properly enabled in Power BI and correctly configured in Azure SQL. Next, verify that the Managed Identity has the necessary permissions to access the database. If needed, involve your database administrator to confirm the required access.

Additionally, check Power BI Service settings under Settings → Data Sources to ensure the authentication mode is correctly set to Managed Identity. It’s also important to validate Azure SQL Firewall settings to confirm that Power BI service IPs are allowed. After making these checks, try manually refreshing the dataset.
