PowerBI Online Report Tile Refresh
Hello,
I'm attempting to create a 'Live' BI report, including tiles that automatically refresh based upon data from a backend Excel file. My goal is to have a display in our manufacturing environment presenting this report 8 hours-a-day, with the visuals updating regularly.
The report has successfully been created and uploaded; with a scheduled refresh every 30 minutes (thanks to Premium). That said, the tiles on the report do not update following a data refresh. Is this normal? Today, the user must manually refresh the page itself in the browser to get the tiles to update. Is there a setting or something I should change?
I can confirm the Excel document feeding the report is being updated and saved on a reguarly basis (every 10 minutes or so).

This is because pin a live report as tile does not refresh with the dataset, it refreshed when the report refresh, and you need to manual refresh the report to bring the changes to the Dashboard live report tile.
According to official doc: “Pin the tile to an existing dashboard or to a new dashboard. Notice the highlighted text: Pin live page enables changes to reports to appear in the dashboard tile when the page is refreshed.”For you requirement, you can pin the visuals to the dashboard separately, then they will refresh after each schedule refresh on the dataset.

You will need to go into the dataset settings and then under Schedule Cache Refresh update it as shown below. Which will update the dashboard tiles.

This is because pin a live report as tile does not refresh with the dataset, it refreshed when the report refresh, and you need to manual refresh the report to bring the changes to the Dashboard live report tile.
